Where Did I Disappear to?

I pray for peace and solace for all the families that have been effected by the recent earthquakes and storms. May God send comfort to them and give them peace. In Jesus name I pray Amen

So you are married and may have a few kids and have been going through the daily motions that a typical household demands.

I know, I woke up one day asking what happened. I was completely lost wondering where did I disappear to?

I always had a passion for writing and somehow doing Gods work. But, how do I get there with my daily demands of being a wife and mother.

As the woman of the house you have and wear many different shoes.

The high red stilettos you put on when your focus is being a wife and taking care of your husband making sure your relationship stays fresh and fun.

You have to switch over to your favorite pair of sneakers so you can run around and deal with the demands of your children.

Making sure the kids are fed, clothed and have all the things they need to get through their week. You must show them love, take them to activities after school, help with home work and so on.

I do not know about you but I am exhausted just thinking about it!

Then you put on the run down shoes to handle the task of making sure the house runs smoothly, food is made, grocery shopping was done the house was kept and lastly the laundry was handled!

Are you tired? Where on Gods green earth do you find time for you and God? How do you avoid wife and mother burn out?

How do you maintain and wear your many shoes with a smile and without losing sight of who God choose you to be?

If being a great mother and wife was not your only calling. Because, God may have called you to be there 100% for your kids and be an amazing homemaker.

However, if you are like me and God has put additional desires in your heart you have to find a way to accomplish it or you risk the chance of letting those gifts die!

I’ll use me as an example. God has additional plans for my life. I put them aside when I had my first daughter Laila and finish nursing school. However, once school was done my desires slowly began to reemerge and get stronger to the point that I could no longer ignore it.

Then my excuse was time! Where do I find time? The answer is simple, YOU JUST DO!

For instance how much time do you spend watching television or talking on the phone?

What about social media, are you searching the web the first thing in the morning before even reading your Bible?

I remember I found myself looking at social media on the phone while using the toilet!

Before, I would use that time to read the word.

Before I met my husband I went on a television fast because I realized I would spend over 10 hours watching Law and Order a day!

All these were distractions used to keep me from doing what was really important!

“I am saying this for your benefit, not to place restrictions on you. I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible.” (1 Corinthians 7:35 NLT)

Trust me you definitely have the time, the question is are you willing to sacrifice your selfish pleasure in order to pursue the thing that God has been telling you to do.

If you can afford it hire a maid to come and clean the house or get a babysitter a couple hours a week so you can focus on the additional desires you want to accomplish.

As for me, I changed my schedule at work so I would have more time to write. I pray and know one day God will replace my job and bless me so I can do his work full time!

But, I have to show him I am faithful with the time I have now and honestly stepping out in faith and just write!

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him,” (1 Timothy 1:12 NLT)

Show God today you are faithful with the time you have now! Start even if its for 30 minutes a day doing what he has called you to do.

Once you start and do your part God will come in and begin to do his!

“May he give us the desire to do his will in everything and to obey all the commands, decrees, and regulations that he gave our ancestors.” (1 Kings 8:58 NLT)

God Bless You!
